Youth Workforce Development
Getting a job is key to a promising future. Keeping a job is even more important. Banner currently offers two programs to help youth find their path to success.
- YouthWorks summer program for youth ages 14-21, provides a salary, field trips, daily instruction, and hands-on work experience in their own communities.
- Youth Development Series is an afterschool program for youth ages 14-18 that teaches skills like career planning, interviewing, resume writing, financial literacy, and communication.
- Financial Literacy 101 teaches the fundamentals of money management such as budgeting, savings, credit scores, debt load, and identify theft. It uses VISA™’s Practical Money Skills curricula and tools.
- My 10 Year Plan guides participants in developing a 10-year career plan. It gives students the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to examine their own lives, explore a wide range of education and career options, and make reasoned and researched goals for their future.
